Purpose of the role

As a result of rapid growth, our Legal Service Delivery team are looking for an individual with the right skills and ambition to start a career as a Business Process Analyst/Developer to provide support, development and process improvement to MinterEllison's growing number of legal staff using a matter management application and assist with the roll out of any new technology.

Role description

Working as part of the Legal Service Delivery team, you will manage multiple stakeholders needs which will include process improvement, programming, database and general technology activities. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Using process mapping techniques to work with legal staff to document the business processes at the firm
  • Taking the business process requirements and programming these in to the Business Process Management (BPM) system
  • Liaising and collaborating with the Technology team, Streamline team and legal practice groups to achieve desired outcomes in further streamlining our legal process
  • Writing reports in MS SQL to report on the firms matters and develop reports for our client requirements
  • Developing web-services and integrations between our different systems and our client systems
  • Assisting in the migration plan from the current BPM solution to an iBPMS (intelligent BPM) solution including the redevelopment of our current Streamline systems
  • Building user and client dashboard views of our systems using web development knowledge
  • Keeping abreast of general trends and advancements in technology advancements in the Legal Service delivery space
  • Be willing to work and experiment with emerging areas of technology and law such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Robotic Process Automation (RPA)

More about you

This position requires a technical and consultative approach with a strong focus on stakeholder management. Working closely with the Technology and Streamline teams, you will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to leverage a career in Business Process Management. Furthermore, you will possess the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent qualifications or experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Microsoft Visual Studio .net (C#) or Java
  • Basic HTML, XML  and JavaScript
  • BPMN (or MS Visio or equivalent)
  • Understanding of Web based technologies
  • Basic MS SQL Server DB Administration
  • Database query language: T-SQL
  • Sound understanding of application administration and testing
