Your role

Our Canberra office is currently looking for an experienced Associate with employment law experience to join our Human Resources & Industrial Relations team. Working closely with Partner Mark Treffers and Special Counsel Bede Gahan on employment related matters working across private sector and government agencies. The work requires someone with very high attention to detail, as well as the ability to respond to matters urgently as they arise and think on your feet. You will also receive a high level of training and support as well as opportunities for client contact and business development.

What we are looking for

  • Strong experience working in employment law;
  • Experience and genuine interest in building a successful, long term career in employment law;
  • Maturity and self-motivation, with a strong appetite finding innovative solutions for client's employment issues; and
  • Someone with sound client and file management skills who understands the importance of providing technically excellent advice;
  • Experience working with Commonwealth clients;
  • The ability to work within tight timeframes;
  • A good team player who appreciates the importance of collegiality and collaboration.
