Purpose of the role

Due to the growth of the firm, our Program Management Office (PMO) are recruiting a Business Analyst to carry out analysis activities throughout the project lifecycle to ensure requirements are delivered, well articulated and meet project objectives. Activities will include current state & future state analysis and requirements gathering, with an initial focus on efficiency, risk and regulatory projects.

This is a permanent role, reporting to the Head of PMO. The Business Analyst will identify and investigate efficiency improvements and impact of regulatory changes, prioritising activities to ensure appropriate focus on projects that deliver return on investment for the business. The Business Analyst will be a dedicated resource for the project, and will work closely with project managers, other business analysts, lawyers, systems owners and other stakeholders across the firm.

Occasional travel may be required to effectively collaborate with stakeholders across various locations.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Work across a broad range of functional areas including support and legal teams, across various locations with work spanning across business analysis, process change, technology solutions, and people's work practices.
  • Analyse and review current processes, conduct gap analysis and present summary of findings and recommendations
  • Create AS-IS and TO-BE process maps
  • Write text requirements or User Stories complete with Acceptance Criteria; which can easily be understood by the Solution Development Team
  • Create business requirements documents and work with technology experts to translate into functional specifications
  • Create and manage requirements traceability matrix and product backlog
  • Provide requirements prioritisation guidelines and influence prioritisation to achieve the best outcomes for the firm
  • Provide analytic support by coordinating data extraction from various databases and data interpretation
  • Support in conducting business process impact assessment and change impact assessments
  • Conduct workshops and technology demonstrations to seek sign-off on business requirements, new processes and technology solutions
  • Participate in test planning and execution

What you need

We welcome applications from people with:

  • 5+ years' experience in a related business analyst role within a regulatory environment
  • Strong analytical and process improvement skills, with experience in delivering efficiency improvements from analysis phase through to implementation
  • Experience developing and implementing processes
  • Experience in completing AS-IS and TO-BE process mapping in multi stream complex business environments
  • Interest in performing a diverse range of work from business analysis to capturing functional specifications and data mapping with familiarity with technology solutions and functionality
  • Proficiency across Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Visio
  • Understanding of the Software Delivery Lifecycle
  • Experience working in an iterative fashion, following an agile framework
  • Knowledge of Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABoK)
  • Bonus points for someone who has:
    • Legal industry or professional services experience
    • Experience working on projects with a regulatory requirement
    • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma
