About us

MinterEllison is one of the Asia Pacific's leading law firms. Established in Sydney in 1827, our firm today operates in Australia, Hong Kong, mainland China, Mongolia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom through a network of integrated offices and associated offices.

Our culture

At MinterEllison, our people are our brand.  Every day, every person in our firm plays a vital role in helping clients to close deals, find solutions, resolve disputes, grasp opportunities and create value.  We are a friendly and supportive firm that takes pride in our work, our individual and collective achievements, our clients' success, and our strong reputation in the marketplace.

Our team

Our Sydney Corporate M&A team has been one of the most active Australian team over the past year. The deal flow has been prolific and has included iconic transactions, hostile takeover bids, large scale cross border M&A and distressed debt transactions.

Your role

A great opportunity currently exists for a junior lawyer or associate to work primarily on top-end capital markets and M&A transactions, contributing some of the highest value equity raisings, acquisitions and IPOs in the market.

Direct experience with capital markets work is not necessary. Talented and ambitious corporate lawyers seeking experience with these types of transactions are strongly encouraged to apply.

What you need

We welcome applications from lawyers with:

  • some corporate transactional experience gained either at a top tier or reputable national firm
  • a strong client focus and demonstrated ability to form enduring relationships with peers, clients and industry experts
  • ability to work in a highly collaborative environment
  • resilience and a commitment to excellence that matches our own
  • pride in your work and who you work for
  • strong academics

What we offer

As a lawyer at MinterEllison you'll be working with major multi-national, regional and local companies as well as government organisations and state-owned entities.  These clients trust us with their biggest and most complex deals that span jurisdictions.  You'll be part of a team, collaborating across practice areas and across offices and working with partners who are recognised as leaders in their fields.

You will enjoy working in an environment where people care about ensuring that you balance your professional goals with your interests outside of work.  We offer competitive top tier employment packages and a wide range of employment benefits.  Our internal support teams are second to none, and our learning and professional development programs are designed to maximise your legal technical expertise, client and solution focus, business acumen and leadership skills to help you take the next step in your career.

How to apply

We prefer to deal with you directly, so please submit your CV, cover letter and academic transcripts for consideration by clicking on the 'Apply' button below.  If you would like further information, please contact Alice Tartaglia on +61 2 9921 8843 for a confidential discussion.
