Purpose of the role

The introduction of the Appian platform to the firm is a key deliverable to support our Digital Transformation strategy.  The core process build project is currently underway and an opportunity for a new Business Process Developer has arisen to build the team as the program of development work is expected to continue for several years. 

Role description

Working as part of the Legal Service Operations team, you will be welcomed into a dynamic and expanding process development team.  You will need to manage multiple stakeholders and support their requirements which may include development activities, process improvement, programming, database and general technology activities. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Appian development according to best practice design and development standards
  • Analysis, design and new development of BPM based applications in a face paced, agile environment
  • conversion and documenting of business requirements and stories, then translate these into system requirements
  • Designing and developing medium software applications with other developers and process analysts
  • Coordinates and works closely with other developers to ensure the best practice design and implementation of program and system implementation
  • Data migration activities
  • Database administration and system maintenance

More about you

This position requires a technical and consultative approach with a strong focus on team participation and stakeholder management. Working closely with the Technology team, you will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to leverage a career in Business Process Management. Furthermore, you will possess the following:

  • Must have 7+ years IT experience with at least 3+ years in Appian
  • Experience with Appian 17.X and above
  • Appian Analyst and Appian Designer Level certified - A-score of 30+ preferred
  • Knowledge of Appian product Architecture
  • Experience with SAIL scripting
  • Experience with building and using CDTs
  • MS SQL modelling Concepts
  • Sound knowledge of Appian best practices
  • Strong Process modelling skills
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of the full SDLC methodologies with a focus on Agile software delivery Business process definition
  • Microsoft Visual Studio .net (C#), HTML, XML, Java and JavaScript experience


  • Working knowledge of Agile tools like JIRA (preferred)
  • Ability to scope Appian Projects
  • Exposure to FITNESSE tool
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced agile team environment
  • Experience working in a professional services organisation
