OUR LEGAL SERVICES OPERATIONS TEAM

MinterEllison’s Legal Service Operations team is focussed on utilising people expertise, refined business processes and innovative digital platforms and automation to facilitate the delivery of all our client-facing legal services across the business. This team works closely with our legal professionals and external service providers to ensure that we adopt practices that have a positive impact on our Firm’s profitability and also deliver a consistently high-quality experience to our clients.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We put the client at the centre of everything we do and partner with them to deliver truly innovative solutions. To support the firm's objective, we are excited to be recruiting a newly created Legal Project Management Lead role within the Legal Service Operations (LSO) team. Reporting to the Head of LSO, this role will be the key driver of the LPM strategy across the firm, taking LPM from an offering utilised on large inter-office matters to a cultural mindset about the way we manage matters at MinterEllison.

Furthermore, as the successful candidate, you will also develop and lead a team of dedicated LPM resources whilst also upskilling other Legal Service Operations team members in order to ensure LPM principles are applied more broadly to all aspects of the client work we do. This role can be located in either Sydney or Melbourne.

More specifically, this role will involve:

  • Leading the strategic growth and increased adoption of LPM across the firm
  • Championing the benefits of LPM to senior stakeholders across the business to garner support for LPM initiatives
  • Leading and developing a dedicated team of LPM resources who provide hands on project management and guidance to legal teams on the use of LPM methodologies and tools
  • Growing our suite of tools and templates to be leveraged by the LPM team and our lawyers
  • Developing a program to upskill other resources across the LSD team in LPM methodologies
  • With the support of other key stakeholders, devising change program to ingrain LPM principles into general matter management across the firm's legal teams
  • In conjunction with other LSO stakeholders, driving integration of LPM principles across LSO offerings and devising technology approach to effective matter management
  • Acting as subject matter expert on a range of topics, including project planning, scoping, budget preparation, and fee and scope management

MORE ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:

  • Extensive legal project management experience in a law firm or in-house environment
  • Demonstrated leadership of a change program involving cultural change and adoption of LPM principles
  • Proven experience with the practical use of technology solutions to support LPM initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams to drive positive change in an organisation
  • Strong stakeholder influencing and relationship building skills
  • Proven ability to establish best practice methodologies with a continuous improvement focus
  • Capacity to manage varying levels of tasks - from thinking strategically to troubleshooting detail where needed
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively whilst maintaining focus on internal efficiency
  • Superb time management, judgment, decision-making and problem solving skills
