As a result of rapid growth, we are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to support the Data and Analytics team, and MinterEllison's journey towards becoming an Analytics and Insights driven organisation.


This role will enable the Analytics Centre of Excellence to better support the business by collaborating to manage, optimise and monitor data retrieval, storage and distribution (manage the data pipeline) to create solutions around data.  

Your duties will include:

  • Develop relationships with the business areas based on trust and credibility as a thought leader.
  • Accountable for identifying where data science can create value or solve problems for the business.
  • Support the Analytics Centre of Excellence (including data scientists and storytellers), providing infrastructure and tools that can be used to deliver end-to-end solutions to business problems. 
  • Build scalable, high performance infrastructure for delivering clear business insights from raw data sources, implement complex analytical projects with a focus on collecting, managing, analysing, and visualising data and develop batch & real-time analytical solutions.
  • Ensuring adequate planning and management of the capacity and demand of the Firm's cloud/on premise data infrastructure solutions.
  • Consult, advise and convince stakeholders by furthering their understanding of analytics through engagements and workshops.
  • Provide guidance and technical expertise to the wider team retaining knowledge of current and emerging technologies to constantly uplift the business capabilities.


On your first day, we expect you to have: 

  • 15 plus years in data analysis and engineering.
  • Relevant programming languages for data consolidation, analysis and reporting such as SQL, Python, R.
  • Data warehousing and ETL development background.
  • Big data exposure (including data lakes) favourable.
  • Data visualisation experience required.
  • Previous experience in data governance, security and privacy.
  • Exposure to development of frameworks for data ingestion, data curation and metadata including tools such as Informatica, SAS and SSIS well regarded.
  • Experience working in cloud based environments e.g. AWS and Azure highly regarded.
  • Experience in developing and deploying automated server based Dashboards.
  • Exposure to Agile methodology and development is preferred.
  • Experience in human centered design approach favourable.
  • Experience in leading change.
  • A consulting background is desirable.
