Purpose of the role

A vacancy currently exists for an Associate, to join our well regarded Insurance practice in Sydney, focussing on sensitive / catastrophic claims as well as general liability. In this position you will work closely with Special Counsel Michelle McMahon, as well as Partner Chern Tan who leads our Sydney Insurance Practice. You will work on a variety of claims for both Private and Government clients. You will have the opportunity to assist in the development and mentoring of junior members of the team.

We welcome applications from lawyers with:

  • Strong experience in insurance law;
  • Experience working on sensitive and / or catastrophic claims;
  • Strong technical and drafting skills and the ability deliver quality, commercial and pragmatic advice under pressure;
  • A strong client focus and demonstrated ability to form enduring relationships with peers, clients and industry experts;
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment;
  • An interest in and willingness to contribute to business development initiatives including presentations, client training and publications;
