Purpose of the role

The Business Information Team is part of MinterEllison's Finance systems team, and plays a critical role in managing the firm's data and reporting requirements to ensure one source of the truth, reusable data models, and the integrity of reporting outputs.

The Business Information team is responsible for the collection, analysis and translation of the firm's reporting requirements into data or report specifications; working with the development team to perform systems testing; facilitating User Acceptance test planning for a production roll out; and providing ongoing training and provision of expert user support.

We are looking for a talented Senior Business Information Analyst to join our team in either Brisbane or Sydney.


Job Description

In this role, you will join a high performing team with talented and supportive professionals who will help you learn and challenge you to grow. This Senior level role will see you working directly with a sociable team that guides the business on aspects such as:

  • Efficient, proactive, analytical, responsive, client focused, operational reporting support through the delivery of reports and investigation, diagnosis and rectification of issues. This includes but is not limited to reports produced in Elite (ERP/PMS), BI Data Visualisation tools and Excel.
  • Peer review data solutions, reports and data packs provided by other members of the Business Information team.
  • Decipher and translate business requirements, providing operational support, training and reporting within agreed SLA's
  • Work with the Business Information Manager and stakeholders at all levels to understand the business, the key drivers and gather data and reporting requirements
  • Analyse and critically evaluate business requirements to determine options for a value-add solution. Perform data analysis to diagnose and resolve issues, or to identify potential improvements, using various data query tools including SQL, Elite Metrics, Qlik Sense excel and other reporting tools.


More About You

We welcome applications from senior level business analysts who have:

  • Experience translating reporting requirements into technical specifications, which are easy to understand for the delivery of business information solutions
  • Experience in design and delivery of standardised data and reporting solutions, including reporting dashboards
  • Process expertise, including Business analytics, experience with both external and internal reporting, support and coordination of metrics and scorecards.
  • Experience with delivering client focussed, operational support within agreed SLAs
  • Ability to understand the key information needs of the business, which is fundamental to performing data analysis and critically evaluating requirements
  • Experience in collecting, managing and aggregating data from various sources
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; and analytical and investigative skills
  • Experience using SQL to query, extract and transform data into useful business information from relational databases
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to extract, analyse and present reports in a professional manner. VBA Coding experience is advantageous
  • Experience with practice management systems, preferably Elite 3e
  • Experience with Qlik Sense advantageous
  • Experience supporting Budgeting and Forecasting systems advantageous
