Purpose of the role

Our Workplace practice group is one of the most successful employment law practices in Australia and is led by industry experts, with extensive experience across the full spectrum of employment law and industrial relations advice. MinterEllison works closely with a broad range of major clients across the public and private sectors in Australia and we remain at the forefront of emerging developments in technology and innovation within Human Resources.

Due to an exciting period of growth in the firm, we are looking for a talented Associate (2-5 years) to join our specialist team in Brisbane.

Job Description

In this role, you will join a high performing team with talented and supportive professionals who will help you learn and challenge you to grow.

As an Associate in the team, you will play a key role in advising on a broad mix of workplace laws, industrial relations strategies, workplace health & safety, discrimination, enterprise agreement negotiation, dismissals, management of change programs, and employment disputes. You will have an opportunity to work with all five of our Queensland Partners, Dan Williams, Victoria Hepburn, Samantha Betzien, Trent Forno and Deanna McMaster to create lasting impacts with our clients, our people and our communities.

More About You

We welcome applications from admitted lawyers who have:

  • Between 2-5 years' experience across employment, industrial and workplace health & safety law.
  • You will ideally have gained your legal experience working within a leading tier law firm, and/or within the legal team of a large scale organisation.
  • You will be eligible to work and to practice law in Australia.
  • Strong research, technical drafting and advisory skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to form enduring relationships with peers, clients and industry experts.
  • Resilience and a commitment to provide exceptional levels of service to our local and international client base.
