Your role

Reporting to the Enterprise Data Engineer, the Systems Analyst Developer will support MinterEllison's journey towards becoming an Analytics and Insights driven organisation.

This role is responsible for developing and maintaining an array of Finance systems focusing on the Elite 3E practice management system (PMS) and enterprise data analytics platforms including data visualisation tools and data warehouse. As a developer working with the Firm's development team you will:

  • Analysing business and technical requirements;
  • Support the Firm's practice management system;
  • Support and maintain business intelligence reporting suite, which include SQL data warehouse, Cloud data lakes and visualisation tools (Qlik and Tableau);
  • Ensure that private, confidential, sensitive and Information Barrier (IB) data is appropriately secured;
  • Develop and test screen customisations, workflow, online authorisations, and notifications within the practice management system;
  • Perform data analysis, exploration and integrations;
  • Perform intermediate DBA functions including problem/performance analysis;
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation for all developments;
  • Keep abreast of general trends and advancements in IT;
  • Identify and suggest possible areas for innovation and improvement in applying technology within the Firm;
  • Adhere to Agile methodologies;
  • Liaise with external Contractors when appropriate;
  • Assist with system upgrades and support activities as required;
  • Perform other project related tasks as assigned;
  • Ensure change control procedures and other firm policies/procedures are followed.

What you need

To be successful in this role you should have:

  • Bachelor degree in IT or Software Engineering;
  • 5 year software development and data analyst work experience;
  • Experience in ASP.net, VB.net, Angular and XML/XSLT developments;
  • Qlik and/or Tableau dashboard development experience;
  • Good data analytical skills;
  • Intermediate SQL database administration knowledge;
  • Experience in Data Lakes/Data Warehouses;
  • Experience in Cloud platforms (AWS);
  • Skills to follow Agile methodologies;
  • Experience in Python and R Languages are desirable;
  • Elite 3E development skills (desirable);
