The Team

As a Firm we recognise that the provision of first class legal services requires a talented and supportive team. At the very front line of this is our Melbourne Client Floor Team which caters for a wide variety of client and staff events ranging from coffee catch ups, sandwich lunches, buffets, and fine dining events.

To support their efforts, the Client Floor team has a full café set up, with state of the art cafe equipment. The objectives of the Barista is to provide consistently good coffee and the highest level of customer service to our staff who frequent the café.

We are currently looking for an experienced professional with a real passion for coffee, food and customer service to join our team on a full time basis.

Your Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the seamless operation of the café, delivering exceptional coffee at all times, and ensuring food and beverage orders are prepared and served in a timely manner.

Reporting to the Client Floor Team Leader, you will take a 'hands on' involvement with all tasks and responsibilities including:

  • Supervising the operations of the café and the café team
  • Cashing up at the end of each day
  • Deliver exceptional and consistent coffee at all times
  • Ordering stock, invoicing, stock management, rostering
  • Ensure the café area and tables are neat and clean at all times
  • Assist in unpacking and shelving and rotating deliveries
  • Adhere to all firm policies and procedures such as confidentiality and WH&S
  • Participate in staff meetings to discuss areas of activity, concern and general feedback
  • Open and close the café, as required.
  • Other duties as directed by Client Floor Team Leader

You will be required to work on a rotating shift roster between the hours of 6.00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday. Overtime may be required for from time to time.

More About You

You will have at least 2-5 years previous barista and management experience in a corporate or high volume environment. You will need to have a passion for food and coffee. In addition, you will need to possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Exceptional coffee-making skills
  • Strong experience as a Barista in a high volume environment
  • Experience with calibrating a coffee machine and grinder
  • Food safety skills
  • An uncompromising commitment to delivering outstanding service in a professional and efficient manner;
  • Exceptional communication skills and an ability to liaise at all levels;
  • Solid food and beverage knowledge 

We are also looking for someone who has:

  • A passion for customer service;
  • Initiative and a proactive approach;
  • Impeccable personal presentation is a must
  • A driven and enthusiastic attitude with a commitment to teamwork.
