Your Role

We are looking for a Desktop Support Analyst to join our Perth team.  You will be reporting into the local IT Services Manager and working as part of the national desktop IT team.  The varied role will see you:

  • Providing proactive first and second level desktop support in a professional and timely manner
  • Participating in a rotating 8-hour shift roster within the office hours which are in place from time to time (currently 7.00am to 7.00pm weekdays)

You are also to:

  • Monitor the desktop telephones and work queues.
  • Resolve technical problems in accordance with client requirements and service level agreement timeframes
  • Escalate calls to other technology groups as appropriate, ensuring all necessary information is documented
  • Communicate technology information to the business using agreed templates and protocols.
  • Use the helpdesk call management system to document all work undertaken.
  • Take ownership of calls and follow up to ensure effective resolution.
  • Impart technical knowledge and skills to internal clients and other technology staff.
  • Identify re-occurring support issues and contribute to problem resolution.
  • Explain technology policies and procedures to clients where necessary.
  • Participate in technology services team meetings, projects and initiatives.
  • Participate in job rotation opportunities within other technology teams

More About You

To be successful in this role you will need to have:

  • Experience in a level 2 desktop role, ideally in a professional services environment 
  • Have some experience in setting up home/small network environment and associated technologies including switches, routers and wireless access points.
  • Familiar with Windows, Apple IOS and Android technologies and able to work in environments that includes pc desktops, printers, laptops, mobile devices, tablets, apps and peripherals.
  • Familiar with Information Technology systems, mobile and internet technologies in a corporate environment.

In terms of qualities, you will need to have a "can do" attitude, fantastic communication skills and a commitment to excellent and responsive customer service. You will also need to be able to handle pressure, multitask and think laterally but sensibly at all times.
