The Team

As a Firm we recognise that the provision of first class legal services requires a talented and supportive team. At the very front line of this is our Melbourne Client Floor Team which caters for a wide variety of client and staff events ranging from coffee catch ups, sandwich lunches, and fine dining occasions. To support their efforts, the Client Floor team has a full kitchen set-up, stocked with state of the art cooking equipment. Using market fresh produce, our meals are prepared on site, with our menus being created daily to ensure we are incorporating the best available produce in innovative and interesting ways.

We are currently looking for an experienced professional with a real passion for food, wine and customer service to join our team on a permanent basis.

Your Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the set up and delivery of breakfasts, lunches, dinners, formal and informal dining and catering. Further, you will take orders in client and staff meetings where discretion and professionalism is key. 

As one of the most senior members of the team, you will take a 'hands on' involvement with all tasks and responsibilities including:

  • Ensure food and beverage service, including set up and delivery of breakfasts, lunches, dinners, formal and informal dining is provided in a professional, timely and efficient manner;
  • Ensure that meeting rooms are set-up correctly and timely for all functions;
  • Support first level audio visual needs;
  • Assist Reception and national Switchboard as required;
  • Provision of and ensure the coffee/tea facilities are clean and tidy at all times;
  • Monitoring consumables including beverage fridges;
  • Ensure that stock levels are sufficient and be responsible for ordering when required;
  • Participate in staff meetings to discuss areas of activity, concern and general feedback
  • Adhere to all firm policies and procedures, in particular confidentiality and OH&S/WH&S including Covid Safe Policies
  • Other duties as directed by Client Floor Coordinator;

Due to the range of functions the team caters for you will be required to work on a rotating shift roster between the hours of 7.00am to 7:00 pm Monday to Friday, standard working 7.5 hours a day. Overtime will be required for client events from time to time.

More About You

Ideally, you will have extensive waiting experience in a professional services, corporate catering business or top end hotel. You will need to have a passion for food and wine. In addition you will need to possess the following skills and attributes:

  • At least 2 years previous experience within a similar role, from corporate or professional services would be highly regarded.
  • a current RSA certificate and sound sommelier knowledge;
  • First Aid Certificate;
  • minimum 5-years barista experience;
  • Event experience preferred;
  • an uncompromising commitment to delivering outstanding service in a professional and efficient manner;
  • exceptional communication skills and an ability to liaise at all levels;
  • initiative and a proactive approach;
  • excellent personal grooming and presentation;
  • high levels of self-motivation;
  • excellent attention to detail;
  • a driven and enthusiastic attitude with a commitment to teamwork;
  • the capacity to multi task and work under pressure.
