YOUR ROLE  

 

We are looking for an Executive Assistant to join our highly regarded Disputes Competition & Insurance practice in Darwin on a 12 month contract.   You will play a key role in the area of Workers' Compensation, supporting a Partner and team of fee earners.  We are looking for a flexible and down-to-earth team player who has excellent attention to detail, is proactive and willing to contribute to the team as a whole.

 

 Some of your responsibilities will include:

 

  • preparing, collating and amending correspondence and court documents
  • diary management and organisation of authors
  • answering calls and monitoring emails
  • file management including opening and closing files, electronic and physical filing
  • billing, reporting and general accounts (experience with elite3 an advantage)
  • reconciliation of expenses
  • general administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, searches and formatting
  • other ad hoc duties as required

ABOUT YOU  

 

We welcome applicants who have:

 

  • 2 + years legal secretarial experience
  • advanced MS Word skills, including document creation and presentation
  • strong understanding of MS Office, including Excel, PowerPoint and other software
  • ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment
  • ability to manage multiple tasks and manage deadlines
  • flexibility and enthusiasm
  • a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • self-motivation and an ability to work autonomously with minimal direction
  • pride in the work you produce and who you work for and with 

Previous experience in workers' compensation is not essential but would be beneficial.
