MinterEllison's Sydney Projects, Infrastructure and Construction team is consistently ranked as Band 1 by APL500 and Chambers.  With over 30 lawyers, the team is led by partners Elizabeth McKechnie, Nicole Green, Richard Crawford, Carrie Metcalfe, Andrew Hales, Eve Eisman, Claire Tait and Kip Fitzsimon. Our client base is diverse comprising Tier 1 Contractors, Developers and Government. The team's Partners are recognised as leaders in the construction and infrastructure industry for their commerciality, depth of knowledge and technical excellence. A position within the team offers the opportunity to learn from the best.

Our team has worked on, and continues to work on, all of the major deals which define and continue to change the built landscape of Australia. In the past 5 years MinterEllison's Projects, Infrastructure & Construction team has been the lead advisor on more than 150 nationally significant construction and infrastructure projects and disputes.  We are focussed on providing end-to-end legal support on infrastructure projects – from project structuring, advice on procurement options, financing, tender strategy, contract documentation and negotiation through to contract administration, maintenance issues and dispute resolution.

A great opportunity currently exists for an experienced major projects, infrastructure and construction lawyer at Senior Associate level to join us. This role is front end with a focus on Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) and major infrastructure work.

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate solid front end / transactional construction and procurement experience (including PPPs). This work involves early stage advisory work in structuring major projects as well as drafting and negotiating the documents for major development and infrastructure projects and general construction matters.

We welcome applications from Lawyers with a minimum 5-8 years PQE. Ideally, you will have specialist major projects and infrastructure industry experience and are looking to cement your career in Tier 1 practice. In addition to your legal knowledge, you will have an ability to manage strong client relationships and complex transactions with minimal supervision and have the ability to provide guidance and mentoring to the junior lawyers in the team.

You will also have:

  • a commercial approach to all matters;
  • superior drafting ability and a strong attention to detail;
  • the ability to work in a highly collaborative fast-paced environment;
  • excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; and
  • resilience and a commitment to excellence that matches our own.

This is truly one of the best practices in Sydney. The quality of the work is excellent and the collaborative nature of the team means that your professional development will be positively supported.
