Learning & Development Consultant

Background

Minter Ellison is offering an exciting and rare opportunity for an experienced Learning & Development professional to join our high performing team.  We are one of the largest law firms in the Asia Pacific with more than 2,000 staff across 15 offices worldwide. Your role is to develop, promote, and monitor the success of Learning and Development activities for the Brisbane office, for both legal and non-legal staff, with an opportunity to also work on national L&D projects.

Responsibilities

Some of the key areas of responsibility for this broad based role include:

  • Developing and delivering meaningful L&D programs aligned to Minter Ellison capability framework;
  • Facilitation of a wide range of learning programs at all levels;
  • Promoting a strong L&D culture to ensure high levels of engagement;
  • Fostering enduring relationships with key stakeholders;
  • Managing our orientation program, Graduate Development Program and other large scale learning programs for the Brisbane office;
  • Keeping abreast of CPD requirements and providing assistance to our legal staff to enable them to meet these requirements;
  • Managing, monitoring & reporting of L&D budget to key stakeholders; and
  • Organising training logistics (e.g. booking rooms & catering facilities, presentation facilities, coordinating presentations).

Experience & Personal Attributes

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate, amongst other things, the following skills and personal qualities:

  • Strong facilitation and coaching experience in adult learning;
  • Ability to design and develop innovative learning programs that are tailored to meet individual and business needs;
  • Influencing skills and ability to establish credibility;
  • Experience in a partnership environment or similar professional services organisation;
  • Empathy, calmness under pressure, confidentiality; and
  • Enjoy working in a team and have a good sense of humour.

We are ideally seeking someone with at least 3 years experience in a similar Learning & Development role, with relevant tertiary qualifications and accreditation in L&D tools (well regarded, but not essential).
