The Role
An exciting full-time opportunity is available for a AI Engineering Lead to join our Automation & Client Solutions team in either our Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne office with hybrid working arrangements available. In this position, you will play a key role in the delivery of end-to-end projects with a focus on providing expertise within your field and contribute to our internal engineering culture through your involvement in developing new offerings, knowledge sharing and team mentoring.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Design, develop, and deploy cloud-based applications and solutions using various cloud services and tools, such as Azure Functions, Logic Apps, App Service, etc.
- Implement AI solutions using various frameworks and services integrated with cloud applications.
- Collaborate with other developers, architects, and consultants to deliver high-quality solutions that meet internal and client's requirements and expectations.
- Optimise, maintain and support AI models to ensure they are running efficiently in a production environment.
- Develop and maintain documentation for AI projects and AI workloads.
- Ensure compliance with the firms security policies, privacy regulations and data governance.
- Apply ITIL best practices to software development, deployment and support practices.
- Leadership of a small team to develop and support AI capabilities within the firm.
More About You
- Strong proficiency in programming languages relevant to cloud and AI development. C#/.NET preferred, but knowledge with Python or JavaScript/TypeScript is also valued,
- Knowledge of RESTful API development and integration,
- Experience with various cloud platforms utilising Devops practices and tools for continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) workflows is essential,
- Experience integrating GPT based AI models into cloud-hosted applications,
- Demonstrated understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) will be highly regarded,
- Hands on experience integrating solutions with various AI services including: natural language processing, computer vision, document intelligence, speech recognition, etc., and
- Knowledge of a diverse range of testing concepts and frameworks, how to structure code to enable testing, and experience writing tests is essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and
- Awareness of the ethical implications of AI technology and the importance of applying ethical guidelines to AI projects, ensuring responsible use of AI is essential.
- Inspire and motivate the team to achieve a shared vision.
- Provide guidance and assistance to direct reports and foster their development plan.
- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, IT or AI related field,
- Azure Fundamentals, and
- Azure AI Engineer Associate certification.
