Your Role

The Payroll Team Leader manages the Payroll Analysts and is responsible for monitoring individual team

members workload to ensure monthly and off-cycle payrolls are processed accurately and on time.


The Payroll Team Lead is required to carry out a range of duties relating to the effective running of the

Payroll Team, including but not limited to:


  • Monitoring individual workloads to ensure work is evenly distributed amongst the payroll processing team
  • Responsible for running the payroll process for the monthly and off-cycle payrolls
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement to increase efficiencies
  • Mentoring Payroll Analysts to create an environment where all team members are continually learning / upskilling
  • Providing advice to employees and other stakeholders in relation to all facets of payroll processing
  • Solid understanding of current legislation relating to payroll and the ability to keep up to date with changing legislation
  • Thorough understanding of LSL State legislation
  • Responsible for calculating Payroll Tax for each State
  • Responsible for reconciling and submitting STP
  • Leave Liability reporting at month end
  • Other month end tasks as required
  • Assist with testing configuration changes in SAP before transporting to production database
  • Work closely with the Talent team to build an effective working relationship with the Payroll team
  • Assist Payroll Manager with tasks as directed


More About You

We welcome applicants who have:


  • Minimum 5 years' end to end payroll experience
  • Thorough understanding of current legislation eg Superannuation, Payroll Tax and the ability to keep up to date with changing legislation
  • Excellent numeric and analytical skills including excel based reporting skills
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Ability to investigate payroll results and manually calculate pays
  • Ability to work productively in a team environment and contribute to a positive team spirit
  • Highly motivated with a focus on the stakeholder experience
  • Experience leading and developing high performing teams in a payroll environment
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Previous experience working with SAP Payroll – Desirable
  • A working knowledge of Success Factors – Desirable
