The Team

 

The Workplace practice group is a key strategic focus for the firm and is one of the most successful employment law practices in Australia. We hire industry leaders and experts to bring a wealth of knowledge and extensive experience across the full spectrum of employment law and industrial relations advice. We align with a broad range of major clients across the public and private sectors in Australia and we remain at the forefront of emerging developments in technology and innovation within Human Resources.

We are now looking for a high-performance individual to join our specialist team in Brisbane.

 

Your Role

 

In this role, you will join a first-class team of talented and supportive law professionals who will challenge you to develop and enhance your capabilities in the employment law space.

 

You will be responsible for advising and providing strategic assistance to both clients and internal/external stakeholders on a varied mix of workplace matters. This will include:

 

  • Providing strategic legal advice on complex employment law and industrial relations matters including employee claims, enterprise bargaining, interpretation of industrial instruments
  • Drafting employment contracts, policies, and procedures
  • Representing clients in tribunals and courts
  • Managing client relationships and business development activities
  • Mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to team knowledge sharing

 

We welcome applications from admitted lawyers who have:

  • 5+ years' post admission experience in employment law
  • Experience working within a leading tier law firm, and/or within the legal team of a large-scale Department or organisation.
  • Eligibility to work and to practice law in Australia.
  • Strong research, technical drafting and advisory skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to form enduring relationships with peers, clients and industry experts.
  • Resilience and a commitment to provide exceptional levels of service to our client base.
  • A positive attitude and a "can do" approach.
  • Strong initiative and ability to work autonomously and efficiently.
