As part of the Corporate Services team, the Security Officer will play a pivotal role in maintaining MinterEllison's security culture and compliance. Working closely with the Chief Security Officer, you will have the opportunity to act on their behalf and make a significant impact.
Your Role
We are excited to offer a unique opportunity for a Security Officer to join our Corporate Services team in Canberra. This is a new, permanent part-time (0.5) position where you can truly make the role your own.
As a key addition to our team, your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining Security Policies and Plans
- Keeping a Security Governance Register
- Managing personnel security clearances
- Facilitating annual security awareness training
- Reporting security incidents and fraud incidents, and contact reports
- Conducting yearly assurance activities to support the CSO
- Ensuring sensitive and classified materials entrusted to MinterEllison are safeguarded at all times
- Building authentic and trusted relationships with the Chief Security Officer and other leaders
- Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve practices, policies, and procedures nationally to enhance the firm's security culture
- Staying up to date with Defence changes
- Facilitating Defence audits as required, including gathering and providing requested evidence
What You Need
To excel in this role, you will have experience in security positions within Defence or the Defence Industry. You will also possess the following attributes:
- Detailed and extensive knowledge of Defence DISP, DSPF, and PSPF
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to negotiate and influence at all levels of the firm
- The ability to develop strong and trusted relationships with key stakeholders and establish credibility and rapport
- A strong focus on client and service excellence
- The ability to adapt and be flexible to meet changing requirements and needs
- Quick to prioritise issues
- Results-focused and deadline-driven
- Accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Confidence in decision-making
Other Requirements
- Australian Citizen with a current NV-1 AGSVA clearance as a minimum
- Successful completion of a Security Officer training course or the ability to complete it in the future
