The Team

 

Our national Client & Market Growth team at MinterEllison is a high performing and critical component of the firm and essential to the firm's success.  The team supports the partnership by providing the full spectrum of business development and marketing services to ensure the firm develops and maintains strong relationships with new and existing clients.

 

The Role

 

A 12 month fixed-term opportunity is available for a Business Development Manager to join the Disputes, Competition & Insurance (DCI) line of business team providing specialist business development and client relationship management to our Insurance and Corporate Risk practice. In this role you will be accountable to drive client and market growth, develop and implement sophisticated client and market-focused strategies working collaboratively with Partners across the firm. This opportunity is open to our Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne office with hybrid working arrangements available. 

 

In this role you will have the opportunity to: 

 

  • Support and advise our Insurance and Corporate Risk Business Unit, driving and advising on strategy and building market share with the national partners
  • Support and advise the national Insurance and Corporate Risk Business Unit team with their key market growth priority campaigns, client initiatives, proposals, events, conferences and directory submissions
  • Support the development of business plans and execution of market growth strategies for Insurance and Corporate Risk – as well as DCI more broadly - including building brand awareness, campaigns, new solution development, proposals, credentials, and events
  • Focus on marketing and profile raising initiatives for the Insurance and Corporate Risk Business Unit, including collaborating with colleagues in the brand, marketing and communications team
  • Support and drive client listening efforts for DCI clients, matters, tenders/capability statements and secondments
  • Assist with broader CMG team initiatives including ad hoc support for other DCI client offerings
  • Collaborate with the partners to collate directory submissions
  • Support partner BD activities, in line with Business Unit priorities
  • Collaborate with cross-industry and cross line of business teams to support development of integrated and multidisciplinary solutions. Support the development of multidisciplinary solutions through the understanding of client needs, market assessment and insights.

 

More About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Commerce, Law or other Business discipline
  • Polished verbal communication and business writing skills
  • Strong Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with a client service focus
  • Proactive team player with the ability to adapt in a fast paced environments
  • Ability to calmly manage competing tasks with time pressures and grasp complex concepts quickly
  • Solution oriented mindset with strong prioritisation skills
