Our Energy and Resources Team

 

MinterEllison is currently offering an opportunity for an Associate or Senior Associate to work as part of our national Energy and Resources team, sitting within our Commercial & Regulatory group in Melbourne. This role will have a primary focus working on cutting-edge energy projects for both public and private sector clients.

 

Your role

 

Working with a group of highly specialised senior lawyers and partners you will assist clients in achieving their policy and business objectives within Australia's energy regulatory framework. Your role will be varied and challenging, including advising on the implementation of major government and commercial projects, drafting complex contracts and advising on the application of and compliance with Australia's energy laws. This is an ideal opportunity to be involved in a range of interesting and intellectually stimulating matters.

 

As a lawyer in this team you will be working with both government and corporate clients. These clients trust MinterEllison with their biggest and most complex matters. You will be part of a team, collaborating across practice areas and across offices, as well as working with individuals who are recognised as leaders in their field.

 

To be successful in this role you will have excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with a desire to learn quickly and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Regulatory lawyers with an interest in energy law are encouraged to apply.

 

What you need

 

We welcome applications from candidates with:

  • At least four years post admission experience in commercial and regulatory work (including contract drafting and regulatory advice);
  • Experience in and long term interest in working on energy projects;
  • The ability to drive a matter forward autonomously where appropriate; and
  • A client-focussed approach and the ability to build strong working relationships with clients, colleagues and peers.
