The role

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Legal Assistant to provide administrative support to our Melbourne Dispute Resolution team. This is a full‑time, permanent role supporting a collaborative team, where you'll play a key role in the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.

 

Some of your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Proactive diary and inbox management
  • Coordinating meetings and travel
  • Liaising with clients and internal stakeholders to build strong working relationships
  • Drafting correspondence and assisting with document preparation and amendments
  • Matter and file management (including opening and closing matters and maintaining filing systems)
  • Client billing and reporting
  • Reconciliation of corporate expenses
  • General administrative and ad hoc support

 

What you'll bring

 

To be successful in this role, you will bring experience in a similar position and demonstrate:

 

  • 2+ years' experience as a Legal Assistant (ideally within litigation)
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • An understanding of billing and financial processes
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to support others
  • Strong communication skills
  • A proactive mindset and a willingness to take initiative
