The Role
 

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Legal Assistant within our Melbourne Real Estate Team.  This role is a full-time role, providing high quality administrative support to enable this busy team to deliver market leading legal and consulting services. This would be a fantastic career development opportunity for an experienced high performing assistant to gain further experience in a corporate law firm environment.


As a key addition to this team, some of your responsibilities will include:
 

  • File and document management, including matter opening and closing, matter administration management, electronic and physical filing, scanning, printing, photocopying and archiving
  • Document production to a high standard in Word, Excel PowerPoint, OneNote and others within MinterEllison Style Guides. 
  • Format, make amendments and proofread documents with a high level of accuracy.
  • Manage client specific and complex billing requirements, including client/matter reporting
  • Assist team with financial hygiene including debt collections, voucher requests, client monies and client reporting
  • Arrange general and trust account receipting and disbursing of funds
  • Make required travel arrangements and amendments to bookings within policy and cost guidelines
  • Reconciling corporate expenses
  • High level diary and calendar management including coordinating and organising meetings (internal and external), monitoring emails and taking telephone calls
  • Other general administrative tasks and ad hoc duties as required

 

What you need
 

We welcome applications from experienced high performing secretaries who possess:
 

  • Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • The ability to clearly and confidently communicate at all levels
  • Advanced MS Word skills, including document creation and presentation
  • Strong understanding of MS Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint and other software
  • Experience using Elite 3E (preferred but not essential)
  • A demonstrated commitment to high internal/external service standards
  • An adaptable and flexible nature
  • A proactive approach and high levels of initiative
