Your role:

Are you an experienced legal assistant with superior organisation and multi-tasking skills seeking to support Partners in a top tier law firm? 


This role is ideally suited to an experienced legal assistant who can handle a busy workload supporting two Partners and additional practitioners in the Commercial Disputes practice group, including supporting both litigious and non-litigious files, and who enjoys interacting with a variety of stakeholders to get the job done.


This role will support 2 Partners and 1 Senior Associate in our Insolvency & Restructuring group.  The team are hard-working and passionate with a collaborative and supportive approach.  You will also collaborate with the other Legal Assistants in the team to support each other and the team as a whole. 


You will be a reliable and self starting individual with a positive can do attitude and experience managing client and court deadlines. 


As a key addition to this team, some of your responsibilities will include:


  • email and appointment management;
  • file opening and electronic filing;
  • phone call screening;
  • reconciling monthly AMEX expenses; 
  • liaising with clients, barristers and various stakeholders;
  • preparing court books and briefs to barristers and experts;
  • electronically filing court documents; 
  • drafting correspondence (including dictation), document production and amendments including use of precedents;
  • database management and coordination;
  • general administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying and conducting searches as required;
  • co-ordination of monthly billing, client reporting and other general account duties.


What you need


The successful candidate will have at least 2-3 years' legal secretarial experience (litigation/insolvency experience favourable) and will also possess the following attributes:


  • excellent prioritisation and organisational skills;
  • strong communication skills;
  • initiative and strong desire to contribute to team success;
  • self-motivated and an ability to work both autonomously and in a highly collaborative team environment;
  • resilience and a commitment to excellence that matches our own;
  • strong understanding of MS Office applications (and Elite or iManage if possible);
  • ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities ahead of time;
  • team orientated and committed to building rapport with other practice group team members.
