Your role:


An exciting opportunity exists in our Public Law team (within our Insurance & Corporate Risk practice) for a Legal Executive Assistant.  This role will support 2 Senior Associates and the wider Public Law team.  We are looking for someone with a high level of attention to detail, an ability to multi task and work autonomously in a busy and high volume team environment.


As a key addition to this team, some of your responsibilities will include:


  • high volume file management including file opening and electronic filing; 
  • email and inbox management; 
  • reviewing weekly rosters for allocation of tasks;
  • extensive diary management including organising meetings and sending calendar appointments to lawyers for all court listings;
  • use online portals to monitor and file documents electronically with Courts and Tribunals; 
  • liaising with clients, barristers and various stakeholders;
  • preparing briefs to experts and barristers;
  • drafting correspondence, document production and amendments including use of precedents;
  • processing invoices for medical reports, expert reports and barristers' fees;
  • database management and coordination;
  • updating excel spreadsheets and producting fortnightly and monthly reports; 
  • general administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying and conducting searches as required;
  • occassionally assisting with monthly billing and other general administrative duties;
  • monthly AMEX/Visa expenses reconciliation; 
  • organising travel using TravelEdge. 


What you need

The successful candidate will have at least 2+ years' legal secretarial experience (litigation and public law experience favourable) and will also possess the following attributes:

  • excellent prioritisation and organisational skills;
  • resilience and a commitment to excellence that matches our own;
  • self-motivated and an ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment;
  • strong understanding of MS Office applications;
  • ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities;
  • team orientated and committed to building rapport with other practice group team members;
  • initiative and strong desire to contribute to team success.
