An exciting opportunity exists in our Statutory Compensation Management group for a full-time Paralegal. This fast-paced role involves supporting our team in Transport Accident Commission (TAC) and WorkCover Victoria matters.
Key Responsibilities
- High-volume file management (opening, closing, and electronic filing)
- Assisting with day-to-day management of litigation files
- Managing the team's court diary and distributing daily court lists
- Preparing and filing court documents
- Rounds duties, including offsite copying
- Supporting conciliations, directions hearings, and tribunal appearance
- Conducting legal research and preparing correspondence
- Liaising with clients, counsel, and tribunal staff
- Other ad hoc duties as required
What You Need
Essential:
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task, work autonomously, and manage conflicting priorities
- Sound file management skills and commitment to delivering quality work
- Strong MS Office proficiency
- Self-motivated team player with initiative
- Ability to work under pressure in a collaborative environment
Desirable:
- Knowledge of Victorian workers' compensation legislation (Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013) and/or Transport Accident Act 1986
- Experience in insurance and or claims management, personal injuries litigation, or HR/IR
- Exposure to tribunal or court processes
