The Role
We are seeking an exceptional Senior Associate to join our specialist Technology and Regulatory practice in Melbourne. This is a unique opportunity to work on highly complex, long-term and significant projects for both public and private sector clients whilst developing expertise across IT law, intellectual property and commercial contracting across multiple sectors (including government, education, health and energy).
In this role, you will have the opportunity to
- Take ownership of and develop client relationships on major government projects
- Provide client-facing advice on complex government procurement, regulatory compliance and policy matters
- Draft and negotiate sophisticated commercial contracts for government, health, education and energy clients
- Work on projects spanning the emergency management, education, life sciences and energy sectors
- Engage with government bodies and regulators on legislative and policy developments
- Collaborate with partners across the firm on other specialist areas as required
About You
We welcome applications from candidates with:
- 7+ years post-qualification experience (or strong junior lawyers may be considered)
- Strong commercial contracting skill set
- Experience in IT/IP/telecommunications law
- Ability to understand and engage with complex business and technical concepts
- Client-focused with strong relationship-building skills
- Commercially astute
- Strong cultural fit with our collaborative team
