The Role

 

We currently have an exciting Financial Planning & Analysis Senior Manager position available within our Finance team on a permanent basis. The purpose of this role is to provide high-quality financial insights, reporting and strategic advice to the partnership and leaders of the firm, covering business performance, supporting critical decision-making, and driving improved financial performance. This role is open to our Perth, Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane office with agile working arrangements available.


Key Responsibilities

 

The main areas this position is responsible for include:

 

•    Prepare and deliver accurate and timely financial results and insights to the Board, Executive Leadership Team, Partners, and Business Operations Chiefs, providing a clear understanding of the firm's financial position and strategic direction.

•    Provide insightful commentary, recommendations, and thought leadership on profit and loss outcomes, movements in business drivers, variances against both budget, forecast and historical data, financial impacts, and identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency gains.

•    Establish strong trusted relationships with the ELT, Business Operations Chiefs, LoB MPs and BULs to enable you to work collaboratively and influence senior stakeholders to drive and implement change.

•    Understand and support the Board and ELT's strategic vision and plans by aligning financial reporting and insights with the firm's strategic objectives.

•    Develop and implement financial performance metrics and dashboards to provide real-time insights to senior management and robust financial models to support decision-making and scenario planning.

•    Assist in managing the annual Firm's strategic planning process, including setting the overarching framework and parameters, timeline control, and preparing budget presentations.

•    Drive continuous improvement, consistency, and operational efficiencies within transactional financial reporting processes and champion the adoption of systems/tools (including adoption of AI) to enhance outcomes and decision-making.

•    Provide leadership, coaching, feedback, and development to team members, monitor workloads and resources across the team, and foster a culture of excellence, curiosity, and collaboration where team members are engaged and inspired to work to their full potential.

•    Meaningfully contribute and demonstrate leadership to firm and team initiatives and projects. Work collaboratively with other Business Operations leaders and teams.
 


Knowledge, skills & experience


•    7+ years' experience in a finance role with extensive experience in financial reporting and analysis, preferably in  professional services

•    A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a master’s degree or accounting qualification (CPA/CIMA/CA) is highly preferred

•    Strategic thinker, strong commercial acumen with analytical and strategic problem-solving abilities

•    Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting requirements

•    Advanced proficiency with financial systems and business intelligence tools

•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of the firm

•    Superior skills managing complex and diverse stakeholder expectations and interests and ability to influence 

•    Demonstrated ability in building strong and trusted relationships 

•    People leadership experience
