Associate Lawyer - Funds / M&A

Your Role

Due to significant business growth, we have a rewarding opportunity for a lawyer to join the team, working closely with senior practitioners on a varied range of funds management, mergers and acquisitions and capital markets matters.


In addition to a fantastic team dedicated to supporting you and your career development, you will have access to market-leading work both transactional and advisory in nature, including fund formation, capital raisings,  asset acquisitions and divestments, secondaries and fund advisory. Due to the nature of our work, you will also have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other practice groups within the firm.


The Team

Our Funds Management Team operates within the broader national Capital Markets & Corporate business line and is renowned for its excellence and innovation. The practice, led by partners Michael Lawson, Ker Wei Tiam and Stuart Johnson, is consistently ranked in Chambers Global/APAC.


The Team has a diverse client base which includes leading global fund managers, Australian and international real estate investment groups, local and international pension funds and institutional investors, the Big Four banks, private equity firms, super funds, boutique investment houses and other sophisticated local and international corporations.


More About You

We welcome applications from lawyers who have:


  • At least 3 years of post-admission experience gained within a reputable law firm, professional services or in-house, with corporate and/or transactional funds management exposure
  • Excellent drafting skills and technical ability
  • A collaborative team spirit
  • A client focused mindset and a demonstrated ability to form enduring relationships
