The Team
The Finance Systems Operations team sits within the Business Systems team in the Financial Services group. The Finance Systems Operations team manages and supports finance systems operations, with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement of the firm's Practice Management (ERP) application and associated finance systems and integrations. The team provides second and third level service management and support to both legal and business operations users.
The Role
We currently have a permanent opportunity available within our Finance Systems Operations team and are seeking an experienced professional managing finance systems leading a team of analysts. You will be responsible for ensuring the operational stability and effectiveness of systems, manage critical functions and actively seek to simplify and automate tasks. As part of a continuous improvement mindset you will have the opportunity to plan and implement minor and major upgrades to systems and work to ensure maximum system effectiveness to meet business needs. This role is open to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Canberra or Adelaide with hybrid working arrangements available.
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
- Lead change management as per ITIL processes;
- Maintain and improve core system processes and manage critical Finance system and business processes including Month end and Fiscal year end;
- Ensure all key operational and support processes are tested, documented and assessed for automation potential;
- Configure organisational structures and financial management functions in systems, as per changing business requirements.
- Manage second level support processes and liaise with first and third level support teams and external providers as required;
- Manage the team's pipeline of work;
- Provide expertise and guidance re Incident, Major Incident, Problem and Change management;
- Lead the team to provide high quality troubleshooting, defect identification, remediation and testing;
- Collaborate to develop pipeline planning and roadmap for system improvements and upgrades
- Plan, specify, test and deliver robust improvements to interfaces, integrations and processes;
- Mentor and develop the team to achieve business outcomes and career objectives including upskilling and cross skilling. Conduct regular team and one to one meetings;
- Perform other tasks as required by the Head of Business Systems.
More About You
We welcome applications from candidates who have demonstratable experience in:
- At least 10 years functional business experience, demonstrating strong working knowledge of business drivers and commercial environment;
- At least 7 years Finance systems experience with significant size Finance and Finance related systems preferably within a Professional Services or corporate environment; with all or part of that time leading a team;
- Strong technical and business skills;
- Experience with managing a team to deliver support and solutions within a Finance team environment;
- Good understanding of system support, operations and change, incorporating change management and SDLC understanding;
- Strong analytical and investigative skills, including trouble shooting and root cause analysis; determination and drive to remediate successfully and implement lessons learned;
- Experience with Incident, Problem, Major Incident and Change management;
- Experience managing in team projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including ability to present technical information in a way that is easy to understand;
- Experience with support and improvement of integrated data solutions, including troubleshooting and testing of required changes;
- Good SQL skills at intermediate level or above;
- Experience with service management systems and embedding of ITIL principles within the service management framework.
