The Team
Our Finance Support and Training team plays a critical role in ensuring the firm efficiently and effectively uses our finance system (Elite 3E) to meet business, financial and regulatory requirements. As the firm transitions to centralised finance functions under the AML/CTF Program, this team is integral to ensuring that system controls, workflows and compliance obligations are understood, adopted and consistently applied across all business requests.
The team acts as a primary interface between Finance, front-end users and the GCO Compliance team, ensuring seamless operations of Elite 3E and supporting the implementation of new AML-related system controls. We pride ourselves on a collaborative and supportive culture, where continuous improvement and knowledge sharing are at the heart of everything we do.
Your Role
Reporting to the Support and Training Manager, the Finance Support Analyst is a key interface between Finance, front-end users and the Compliance team, responsible for delivering high-quality help desk support, analysis and system process alignment to support the firm's AML and financial obligations.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Providing responsive, client-focused Tier 1 systems support, including investigations, diagnosis and resolving queries within agreed SLAs
- Delivering excellent finance and billing support, including guidance on AML-related process and system changes (e.g. client/matter onboarding and third-party payor requirements) to front-end users
- Supporting the implementation of AML compliance-driven finance process changes, particularly around client and matter opening and maintenance and payor controls
- Assisting with process testing for AML-driven updates and issue resolution during transition periods, and validating that new system controls work as intended for business continuity
- Sharing insights from user queries to help refine centralised processes and support continuous improvement
- Supporting after-hours coverage for multi-jurisdictional time zones where applicable, and assisting with end-of-month billing processes when required
More About You
To perform in this role, the ideal candidate will have at least one year of functional business experience demonstrating strong working knowledge of a legal environment.
You will also have:
- Strong understanding of end-to-end finance processes and exposure to centralised or shared-service operating models
- Demonstrated experience in system support for complex financial systems (preferably Elite 3E or other practice management systems)
- The ability to present technical or process information in a clear, user-friendly manner, with strong analytical and investigative skills including the ability to identify the root cause of system, process or compliance issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exposure to AML/CTF obligations, finance compliance functions or client/matter intake processes (highly valued)
- The ability to work collaboratively across all stakeholders in a legal and consulting environment
