The Role
We're looking for a talented Lawyer or Associate (1-3 years' PQE) to join our nationally recognised Health, Aged Care & Human Services team, working closely with Partner Penelope Eden, Head of MinterEllison's National Human Services Practice.
This is a unique opportunity to work with some of Australia's leading health, aged care, disability and community services providers, advising on complex regulatory, governance, risk and dispute matters that shape essential services across the country. This position is open to our Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane office with hybrid working arrangements available.
What you'll work on
You'll gain exposure to a broad and diverse practice, including:
- Regulatory, governance and policy advice
- Administrative law and statutory interpretation
- Aged care, disability and human services regulation
- Incident, complaint and regulator management
- Inquiries, investigations, inquests and disputes
- Privacy, access to records and risk management
- Drafting and reviewing aged care and service agreements
- Transactional and structuring matters alongside our corporate and financial services teams
Our clients include not-for-profit and charitable organisations, private providers, ASX-listed companies, insurers, and public and private healthcare operators.
About you
We're keen to hear from lawyers who have:
- 1-3 years' post-admission experience, ideally in health, aged care, disability or a related regulatory practice
- Strong legal research, drafting and analytical skills
- Experience advising on regulatory and administrative law matters
- Litigation, advocacy or dispute resolution experience
- A commercial, pragmatic and solution-focused approach
- Strong relationship-building skills and a client-centric mindset
- A collaborative approach and ability to thrive in a high-performing team environment
- A genuine interest in the health, aged care and disability sectors
