Our Business Development team

MinterEllison's national Client & Market Growth team is a high performing engine for client centric growth. Essential to the firm's success, the Client & Market Growth team delivers the full spectrum of strategic business development and marketing services ensuring the firm builds and develops strong relationships with both new and existing clients.

The Major Proposals team creates and delivers significant proposals for panel and project opportunities, working closely with the BD team from proposal creation through submission.

 

Your role

An opportunity has opened in the Business Development team for a Proposal Manager on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover a parental leave position. This role will work as part of a talented team of proposal specialists. It is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to accelerate their career in proposal management with an enthusiastic and highly skilled team.

You will gain exposure to multiple practice areas and partner with leading business development and legal experts to develop tailored proposals for high profile projects and clients.

Your responsibilities:

  • Deliver high quality proposals for many of the firms most important and strategic clients
  • contribute to maintaining an exceptional level of performance in major proposal delivery, supporting the team's reputation as leading proposal specialists
  • Provide end-to-end project management for significant proposals (ASX, priority industry and Government clients)
  • Build relationships between major proposals, BD and other firm areas
  • contribute to team initiatives including content management and proposal automation, opportunity reporting and training activities to upskill the firm in best practice methodologies.

 

What You Need

We are looking for an enthusiastic and resourceful professional with

  • Tertiary qualification in Communications, Business, Commerce, Law or relevant Arts degree
  • minimum 5 years direct proposal, tenders and bids experience, preferably within a legal or consulting environment
  • Strong collaborative and stakeholder engagement skills
  • demonstrated experience value selling and managing proposals for government/public sector and ASX clients (law firm experience highly regarded)
  • Strong workflow prioritisation and deadline management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, Microsoft suite experience preferred
  • Creative thinking and project delivery capability
  • Strong client service focus and client-focused writing skills
