An outstanding opportunity is available for a Senior Associate with at least 5 years’ post‑admission and technical experience to join our market‑leading Health Law team in Sydney.

 

Working directly with Sarah Lark, one of our pre‑eminent medical malpractice partners, and her market leading team, you will play a key role in a specialist practice advising icare and all NSW Health agencies, on a wide range of complex and high‑profile matters, including:

 

  • medical malpractice and negligence claims
  • coronial inquests and inquiries

 

This role sits within a supportive, flexible and highly collaborative team. You will be trusted to take ownership of matters, client engagement, mentor junior lawyers, and deliver top tier quality, pragmatic, government focused that reflect a deep understanding of clients' needs.

 

 

About You

 

You will bring:

 

  • at least 5 years’ post‑admission and technical experience in health‑related disputes, ideally including medical malpractice and/or coronial law (experience acting for NSW Health is advantageous but not essential);
  • experience practising in the NSW District Court and Supreme Court, with strong familiarity with the NSW Coroner's Court;
  • excellent plain‑English drafting skills and the confidence to advise clients on complex legal and regulatory issues;
  • a high level of technical excellence and attention to detail;
  • a strong client‑service mindset, with demonstrated experience building and maintaining trusted client relationships;
  • the ability to work autonomously while thriving in a team‑based, collaborative environment; and
  • pride in your work, your professional reputation, and the firm you represent.
