Your Role
An exciting 12 month fixed-term opportunity is available for an experienced BI developer to join our Data & Analytics team to assist with a large-scale BI transformation project. Whilst this role is on a fixed-term appointment, there is good potential it may be extended as this position plays a critical role in informing MinterEllison' s strategic decisions through the development and optimization of a range of analytical solutions.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders who is adept at understanding business requirements from non-technical stakeholders and translating these into effective analytical solutions.
Additionally, the role requires someone who can lead and drive workshops, foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration. The role is based in Sydney with hybrid working arrangements available.
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
• Develop and manage enterprise semantic models and MS Fabric assets.
• Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) in MS Fabric.
• Administer the current Fabric platform, implement access controls and data protection measures.
• Troubleshoot data-related issues and manage the Power BI/Fabric infrastructure.
• Optimize performance and usability of Power BI reports.
More About You
• At least 4 to 5 years' experience working within a similar role.
• Demonstrated ability in managing enterprise Semantic Modelling using big data and star schemas.
• Skilled in Power BI, including DAX, security (RLS/OLS) and Power Query. Relevant certifications (PL300/DP700) is a plus.
• Strong dimensional data modelling experience and data warehousing background.
• Skills in optimizing data models to ensure fast query performance, including best practices in indexing and table structures.
• Power BI infrastructure and administration experience is nice to have.
• Prior experience in large BI projects.
• Strong report/dashboard design skills.
• Skilled in SQL and Python.
• Proficient in Data Modelling, DAX and Visualisation.
• Relevant certifications (PL300/DP700) and experience working in large scale BI projects will be highly regarded.
